The Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity, presented by Scooter Kat, is set to return to Reno, Nev. for the seventh annual futurity and horse show Sept. 13-17, 2023 at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Event Center. “In 2023, we will once again be guaranteeing $20,000 to the Non Pro Futurity champion,” said John Ward of Tulare, Calif., and one of the founders of the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity. “We are excited for a great seventh year, and we’ll see you in Reno!”
The Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Foundation is sponsoring three key classes where they will be presenting awards, perpetual bronze trophies, and added money in the Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Open Bridle, and scholarship monies to the Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Youth Bridle and Youth Boxing top five winners. The futurity event will also feature the Benny Guitron Memorial Open Hackamore and Jimmie Paul/Tenlight Memorial Open Two Rein, each with their own perpetual memorial trophies.
