AzQHA is excited to welcome our new Association Secretary, Heidi Lane, to the team. Heidi brings over 20 years of experience in every facet of the horse business and is well know for her ‘go the extra mile’ work ethic.
In addition to helping the membership with all their show, points and administrative needs, Heidi will be the secretary for all the AzQHA shows including Sun Circuit, AZ Fall Championship and Pinnacle Circuit. Reilly Dhaliwal will continue with the organization as the Youth Advisor.
Originally from Colorado, Heidi has been involved in the horse industry most of her life. She had a training business breaking colts and giving lessons, specializing in working with older clients who were getting back to riding after a long absence. Over the years, she has worked every job at shows from gate, to ring steward, to management. She eventually moved into running horse shows around the country full time and has worked for many associations in AQHA, APHA, NSBA, NRHA,
In 2019, Heidi began working for AQHA as the Show Events Coordinator. She comments, “I think having insight from the back side of AQHA will translate to running even more efficient shows in Arizona. I’m super excited about coming to Arizona and putting all my experience to good use.” She adds that beyond the three prestigious shows Arizona produces, she looks forward to building the excitement of the No Bling shows and other initiatives beyond the show ring.
She is also looking forward to working with the AzQHA board and Doug Huls. She adds, “I’ve worked with Doug on different shows over the years and have a great relationship with him.”
