PCQHA July 2022 President’s Message

The EMO Celebration AQHA show, June 30-July 10, at the South Point Equestrian Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, is in full swing as I write this message. The turnout is huge and the excitement is building as we begin naming Class Circuit Champions who are vying for the $100,000 cash money. Each of the select 100 classes are competing for the $1,000 cash money to be divided between first, second and third places. The big money payouts brought riders from all over the country and the competition is heating up. You see, Circuit champions receive $500 cash and a beautiful neck ribbon, Reserve Circuit Champions receive $300 cash and Third Place Circuit winners receive $200 cash. Watch for results, photos and the wrap-up story in next month’s Pacific Coast Journal.

Next up is the California Championship show in the historic horse and wine country town of Paso Robles, CA, Sept. 1-4, 2022. The show is a 4-day event with a full slate of AQHA Ranch, Western, English, Trail, and Futurity classes. The show is approved by AQHA, PCQHA, NSBA, WCRH and WRHA. In addition, there are all-breed walk-trot classes for Ranch, Western, English and Trail.

The California Championship class list includes classes for all levels of exhibitors including classes for All Breed Walk Trot (11 & under and Amateur), Level 1 Youth, Amateur, Open, plus Youth, Amateur, Select and Jr/Sr for Western, English, Trail and Ranch classes. In addition, the show is offering 11 Futurity classes for Western Pleasure, Trail, Hunter Under Saddle, Ranch Riding and Ranch Trail.

Best of all are the spectacular awards for this show.

Remember, if you show at the EMO Celebration, make sure your PCQHA membership is current (you can enter in the show office or online at PCQHA.com) as you will have a chance to win a coveted 3-horse head bronze finish trophy. In order to be eligible to win, exhibitors, owners and trainers must be current PCQHA members at the EMO Celebration show. In addition, exhibitors must show in both the 2022 Celebration show and the California Championship show and compete in Halter, plus two other AQHA divisions. There are no point minimums to win. The beautiful 3-Headed Horse trophy will be awarded in the 8 divisions at the 2022 California Championship show in September. For more details, email: PCQHAoffice@gmail.com.
