Did you know that money really does grow on trees? Well, it did at the Show me the Money show held at Los Angeles Equestrian Center April 13 to the 17th in Burbank, CA. Along with 100.00 dollar bills being passed out to exhibitors and spinning the money wheel for free money, everyone had a fun and profitable show.
Due to the threat of EHV lurking in CA the weeks before, The CDFA asked to put shows on hold to keep the virus from spreading. The recommendation was lifted March 30th which gave the green light to hold the show. LAEC went above and beyond to protect our horses and keep them safe. All the stalls were disinfected prior to the start of the show. All horses were required to show health certificates and proof of Rhino vaccine before being allowed to unload. This process went very smoothly as everyone complied.
Show me the Money offered AQHA classes as well as NSBA, PCHA and WCRH approved classes. Western, English, Reining, Ranch and Halter were included.

Congratulations to Charlotte Green and Mechanic Parkin Only, winning the Trail Classic and Champion saddle. Reserve Champion was Movin the Chains, shown by Kaci Rodriguez. Third place went to Cameron Reese on her horse, Like my Lope. Amazing awards were given to all of the exhibitors. A new perpetual trophy in the name of Izzy Neat and Marcia Cribbs was awarded to the high point Select Amateur rider. This year’s recipient was Robbie Jensen on her horse, I Carry Protection. Thank you to Renee Baker and her hardworking team that helped make the event so successful.
A fun new event was offered for the Ranch Riders. The Pro/Am Ranch Riding/Ranch Trail was a challenge for two riders on two courses. One rider rode the ranch riding pattern and then the second rider completed the course riding the trail pattern. Sarah Faught and Stephanie Reynolds paired up on Sol De Conquistador to win the Pro/Am Ranch Riding/trail class. Along with a money prize the champion won a full page ad in the Pacific Coast Journal and a free stall at the California Championships August 31st to September 3rd in Paso Robles. Reserve Champion was Spark me Again with Maureen Truxler and Patrice Vernand
